2000 Industrial Units to Become Operational

TEHRAN The Deputy Minister of Industries Mostafa Amir Mirza Mohammadi said here yesterday that a number of 2000 industrial units will become operational by the end of the current Iranian year. Mohammadi told a press conference on Wednesday that Rls. 4000 billion was invested for the said projects. He added that the projects cover different domestic industries including food-stuff, electronic industry, textile, machinery and spare parts and metal and mine industries.
Mohammad added that last year exploitation certificate for 1660 industrial units with Rls.2650 billion investment were issued and over 30 thousand new jobs created. He said 42 percent of the investment was allocated to consumption industries, 55 percent to intermediate industry and the rest to capital venture industries. Over $500 million has been allocated to spare parts manufacturing unites, he added.
Mirza Mohammadi said undertaking industry promotion projects and making operational the undertaken industrial projects are among the objectives of the Ministry of Industries. He added that during the current Iranian year $135 million export foreign currency was allocated to the industrial development which will be used for further development of the country's industrial sector." The Ministry of Industries supports investment in high technical electronic sector by providing financial facilities, Mohammad said and added that the private investors capable of producing automobile spare parts can make investments in the field of spare parts production.
